ASD and other conditions
Sometimes individuals with ASD have other developmental and medical conditions or symptoms as well. It’s important to seek advice about any other difficulties, as this may affect the sort of advice and support that will best meet your child’s needs. These are called co-occurring conditions. Some of these conditions are:
- coordination difficulties
- reading and writing difficulties, for example, dyslexia
- low mood or depression
- anxiety
- epilepsy (seizures)
- attention deficit hyperactivity disorder
- tic disorders
